New trailer for DC's animated 'Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox'
Warner Bros. has been on a roll of late with their stable of animated superhero flicks, coming off a pair of successful The Dark Knight Returns adaptations. Those were directed by Jay Oliva, and he's already back and bringing another acclaimed DC Comics storyline to life with Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, which now has a new trailer.
Based on the popular Geoff Johns storyline from 2011, the story has the Flash using the Speed Force to travel back in time to fix past mistakes, only to have it cause temporal ripples that prove disastrous. Waking up powerless in the present, he discovers that the Justice League no longer exist, Superman has been detained, a Thomas Wayne version of Batman is running around, and Cyborg is a government agent and considered the ultimate hero. Meanwhile the world is being ripped apart by a fierce battle between Wonder Woman's Amazonians and Aquaman's Atlanteans.
The celebrity voice cast is impressive with Kevin Conroy returning as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Justin Chambers (Grey's Anatomy) as Barry Allen aka The Flash, Kevin McKidd (Rome) as Thomas Wayne, Michael B. Jordan (Fantastic Four, maybe?) as Cyborg, Ron Perlman as Deathstroke the Terminator, Cary Elwes as Aquaman, Dana Delaney as Lois Lane, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, C. Thomas Howell as Professor Zoom, and Danny Huston as General Lane. The animation is solid, not quite as moody or stylish as the 'Dark Knight Returns' films were, and the story looks pretty faithful to what Johns originally envisioned.
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox will be available on Blu-Ray/DVD and Digital Download on July 30th. Pre-Order yours here!
