Take to the air with the new trailer for Disney's 'Planes'

Chances are we'll never see a Cars 3, especially after the cold reception the last film received. "Cold reception" in that the first two films earned over $1B for Disney/Pixar, but there was enough dislike for Cars 2 that they've decided going the spinoff route is the wisest course of action. The film continuing the Cars tradition is Planes, which was originally set to go straight to your local Wal-Mart or Best Buy, but will now get a full theatrical release this summer.

A new, fuller trailer for the film has been released, and it looks to be combining the small-town attitude of Cars with the jet-setting of the sequel. Dane Cook voices Dusty Crophopper, a cropduster whose fear of flying clashes with his dreams of becoming an international air racer. Stacy Keach, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Teri Hatcher, Val Kilmer, Priyanka Chopra, Brad Garrett and more lend their voices to the cast of talking vehicles.

The first of a trilogy, a sequel titled Planes 2: Fire and Rescue is already in the works. Planes hits the runway on August 9th. [HuffPo]
