Another Mystery Marvel Film Slated For 2016; 'Cinderella' and 'All The Boys Love Mandy Lane' Dated

Last week Marvel began setting up their slate of films for Phase Three by giving one a May 6th 2016 date, and another to roll out on May 5th 2017. Of course we won't know what those movies are yet, because Marvel/Disney like to hold those things until the big Comic-Con presentation, but until then they've got more films to set in stone.

Marvel has just shored up 2016 with a second film, to open on July 8th. The possibilities for what it could be are the same as before: Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Thor or Captain America sequels. Or maybe it's something they've been keeping extremely close to the vest. We typically get two Marvel superhero films a year so there should be at least one more announcement soon. As you can tell from the above image, my hope is one of these will be a Luke Cage film.

After an exhaustive search to find a lead actress, Disney's live-action Cinderella is ready to go with Lily James as the fairy tale princess, and now a release date for March 13th 2015.  Kenneth Branagh is stepping behind the camera for this version of the classic story, and we should get some great dueling banter between Cate Blanchett as the evil stepmother and Helena Bonham Carer as the fairy godmother. Richard Madden, Holliday Grainger and Sophie McShera are co-starring.

Let's be honest, Jonathan Levine's debut feature All the Boys Love Mandy Lane got a raw deal when The Weinstein Company was supposed to release it years ago. The film became an underground horror favorite anyway (and a favorite of mine), and earlier this year we learned that Weinstein had scooped it up again through their Radius label, with plans of releasing it in the summer. Well they've followed through on, setting it to hit VOD this fall on September 6th, with a theatrical release on October 11th. Gee, only seven years too late. Amber Heard stars as Mandy Lane, a popular good girl in school who is the object of every guy's attention. During a party at a friend's ranch, she is aggressively pursued by a number of boys, all of whom begin to mysteriously disappear.
