First Trailer for Lake Bell's Trailer Voiceover Comedy 'In A World..."

Lake Bell has been pegged as a future star for quite awhile, and lately she's been showing off what a great, multi-faceted talent she can really. Her outrageous comic work on Children's Hospital speaks for itself, and I was personally impressed by her performances in the criminally underseen A Good Old Fashioned Orgy and the indie horror Black Rock. At Sundance she earned raves for her directorial debut, In a World..., a film which explores the inherently funny industry of trailer voiceover specialists. Honored with the festival's Dramatic screenwriting award, the film's first trailer has been released, and it looks like a real winner.

Bell plays a struggling vocal coach harboring a secret desire to get into the world of movie trailer voiceovers, following in the footsteps of her legendary father, played by a track-suited Fred Melemed. With his ego driving her on, she attempts to stake her claim in the industry, only to run into a number of comic hurdles spurred on by her loyal sister and wacky colleagues. There are number of charming and funny moments here, helped by a great ensemble that includes Demitri Martin, Rob Corddry, Ken Marino, Eva Longoria, and Nick Offerman. The tone is a little sporadic, but there are times when this looks like one of those great little Christopher Guest comedies.
