New Images and a Major 'Man of Steel' Easter Egg Revealed; Zack Snyder Talks Sequels and 'Justice League'

The Man of Steel press junkets have been happening over the weekend, which means that the curtain has been completely lifted on Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan's Superman film. While it's still a couple of weeks away from release, the buzz for months hasn't been so much about the movie itself, but what Warner Bros. do after it? Will they go directly into a sequel, assuming this one is as big a hit as many expect? Or do they finally move forward in bringing all of the DC Comics heroes together for Justice League?

Rumors have suggested that Snyder will be asked to direct Justice League if everything falls into line as the studio hopes, but in a conversation with Collider he says that a Man of Steel sequel would probably need to happen first....

Snyder: "I feel like you need to get Superman a little further down the road before you can do a Justice League movie.... All I’m saying is that you’ve got to get Superman further down the road."

That certainly sounds like a sequel, and perhaps hints that all of Superman's internal struggles may not be resolved by Man of Steel's conclusion. As for the guy wearing the red & blue costume, Henry Cavill? While he may have been a virtual unknown to many people a year ago, that's definitely not the case anymore, and Warner Bros. has enough confidence in him to hand him the lead in their reboot of The Man from UNCLE. Cavill sounds more than game for jumping ahead into a Justice League film, although he doesn't have any inside information on it....

Cavill:   "Of course I’m open to it, very much open to it, but I have no idea what plans are for that. I’m not privy to that kind of information. I think it would be a lot of fun to explore the character further and a continuing journey, but I know nothing about those plans so far."

If Justice League is going to happen, chances are it won't hit the 2015 target date that has been out there for awhile now. A director has yet to be signed for what will be a massive undertaking, and Will Beal's script was thrown out with David Goyer stepping in to draft a new one. Chances are we're looking at a delay that could stretch into 2016 and beyond, which would leave the door open for Man of Steel 2 arriving first.

Speaking of sequels, there is a major Easter Egg in Man of Steel that could be a sign of things to come. It could be considered a spoiler, so feast on a handful of new images first to decide if it's something you want to know...

Ok? So, Snyder revealed that one of the satellites destroyed by General Zod has the Wayne Enterprises logo on it. Is this as hint of things to come, or just something cool for the eagle-eyed fans out there? Probably more of the latter, but when asked about Superman and Batman being on screen together, Snyder played coy...

Snyder: “I don’t know. Everything is interesting at this point. And don’t forget that Lex is out there, doing who knows what…”

It should be noted that a rumor hinting at Superman and Batman teaming up for a World's Finest movie sprang up back in March. If Justice League does end up getting pushed back significantly, this could be a way of moving Superman "a little further down the road".
