Trailer For Sex Addiction Comedy 'Thanks For Sharing' With Mark Ruffalo and Gwyneth Paltrow

The subject of sex addiction has been explored in many movies and TV shows before, most recently in Steve McQueen and Michael Fassbender's intense drama, Shame. It's a far cry from Thanks For Sharing, the new ensemble film starring Mark Ruffalo, Gwyneth Paltrow, Josh Gad, Pink, and Tim Robbins, which treats it as an affliction no different than alcoholism or drug abuse, and uses it as the basis for a light-hearted romantic comedy.

The first trailer has hit the web, and despite a few moments of insight this is clearly meant to be nothing more than a feel-good night at the movies. Ruffalo plays a man attempting to recover from his sexual addiction, and finds that his problem is a real hindrance to his relationship with Paltrow, who knows nothing about it.  Gad plays a guy with a sex problem of the voyeur variety, while Pink looks impressive as another struggling to keep her hormones in check. While the tone is a little uneven, and parts of it look like an extended episode of Californication, this could be a solid fall season charmer assuming it doesn't try to be too much.

Directed by Stuart Blumberg and co-starring Patrick Fugit, Joely Richardson, and Carol Kane, Thanks For Sharing arrives on September 20th.
