Win Free Passes To Angelika's After Hours 'Close Encounters Of The Third Kind'

You are not alone. Our friends at the gorgeous Angelika Mosaic Film Center in Fairfax, VA love classic sci-fi too, and they continue to prove it with their Angelika After Hours cult favorite series. This weekend's movie is the director's cut for one of Steven Spielberg's most cherished films, Close Encounters of the Third Kind! Because we think this is a great event at undoubtedly the most beautiful theater in the area, we want you to be there!

Showings take place on Friday June 28th and Saturday June 29th at 11:45pm. We'll be selecting 10 winners to attend the event with a guest, and all you need to do is fire off an email to punchdrunkcritics@yahoo.com with 'Close Encounters Contest' in the subject line. Please include your full name, which day you'd like to attend, and your favorite Steven Spielberg film.  Winners will have their name added to the RSVP list for the specified evening.

Because we do share such a close relationship with the fine folks at the Angelika, and they are doing this as a special treat to our readers, please do not enter if you can not attend.

Good luck! And I hope to see you there at the show! Full details are below.

THIS WEEK: CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND
Director's Cut - new 35mm print!
Steven Spielberg followed JAWS with this epic science fiction adventure about a disparate group of people who attempt to contact alien intelligence. Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfuss) is an electrical lineman who witnesses an unidentified flying object. Neary's obsession with proving what he saw eventually puts him in contact with others who've had close encounters with alien spacecraft, including a French researcher who believes that we can use a musical language to communicate with alien visitors (played by celebrated French filmmaker François Truffaut). Lacombe's theory is put to the test when a band of government researchers and underground UFO enthusiasts join for an exchange with the alien visitors.
