1st Look at Peter Dinklage in 'X-men: Days of Future Past'; Plus Viral Promo Teases Sentinels
Bryan Singer and 20th Century Fox have gotten their wish and all eyes are back on the X-men franchise. Unfortunately after the weak domestic debut for The Wolverine, mostly people are looking ahead to the more promising X-men: Days of Future Past. A viral site for the film went live last week, and we've seen a couple of images relating to Trask Industries, the corporation responsible for creating the mutant-hunting Sentinels. The site has now been updated with a number of in-depth looks at not only the impact of Trask Industries, but its founder Bolivar Trask, played by Peter Dinklage.
It's become a trend for any film involving morally questionable corporations to have a fake TV commercial, and now we have one promoting 50 years of Sentinel protection. Dig further and you'll learn a little about the history of the Sentinel program, with the first model the Mark I created in 1973. Along with a first look at Dinklage as Trask, we learn that he discovered the mutant X-gene while doing DNA research, and soon began theorizing on the extinction of the human race as mutants became more prevalent. We also get a handful of images giving a glimpse at the alternate timeline the X-men are trying to prevent when Sentinels are everywhere, including at the inauguration of Ronald Reagan.
X-men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23rd 2014.
