Metallica hit Comic-Con for the first time ever yesterday, and they brought along the poster and trailer for their inventive 3D "concert film", Metallica Through the Never. Directed by Nimrod Antal (Predators) and starring Dane DeHaan, the film follows a Metallica roadie who is sent on a mission across a post-apocalyptic landscape during one of the band's concerts. There's something unique and visceral about the way the film was shot, and the blend of concert footage and action is exciting, even for someone who isn't much into Metallica. It'll be interesting to see how this looks on IMAX 3D.
Metallica Through the Never opens limited on September 27th, then goes wide a week later.
