New Set Image of Dwayne Johnson In Brett Ratner's 'Hercules'

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson jumped straight from hernia surgery after his WrestleMania match with John Cena into production on Brett Ratner's expensive mythological adventure film, Hercules. Filming began about a month ago, and Johnson has been tweeting regular updates from the set, mostly about his ridiculous workout regimen and the make-up process transforming him into the titular demigod. Now he's posted the most revealing image yet.

The latest black and white set photo only gives us Johnson's back, because for some reason he's been reluctant to show us more up to this point.. The image comes with Johnson's caption,  “Our HERCULES set created by award winning designer Jean-Vincent Puzos w/ great detail. I sit in awe.” Hopefully future images will do a better job of conveying what there is to be so "in awe" about, because this shot looks pretty generic.

Hercules is based on the Radical Comics series Hercules: The Thracian War, and has the hero joining with his closest allies to train the King of Thrace's soldiers to become the most bloodthirsty army in the world. Hercules opens on July 25th 2014.
