Thor and Loki Featured In Two 'Thor: The Dark World' Character Posters

These images of a thunderous Thor and scheming Loki were part of a recent Empire magazine cover spread, but now Marvel has released them as new character posters. Thor: The Dark World picks up where The Avengers left off and has Thor (Chris Hemsworth) forced to team up with his conniving brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) to defend Asgard from the threat of dark elf Malekith. As we've seen from the trailers, Thor will be pulled in many different directions at once. Not only must he watch for the inevitable knife in the back from Loki, but his lover Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) is also in harm's way.

Thor is probably my least favorite Avenger ever, he's simply not interesting to me. But I found the first film entertaining, and the sequel looks amazing thanks to Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor coming aboard. I'm a little sad this may be the last we see of Loki for awhile, but hopefully he goes out with the bang he deserves.  

Thor: The Dark World opens on November 8th.
