The Coen Brothers' 'Inside Llewyn Davis' Unveils a New Trailer
It's always folly to start judging the Oscar race too soon, but this year has a plethora of top directors bringing their films into theaters this fall. With Paul Greengrass, Steve McQueen, Martin Scorsese, and David O. Russell delivering high-profile projects, perhaps the one that has the best shot at winning some gold is the Coen Brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis.
A number of folksy and soul trailers have been released already, but here's one more that adds a touch of melancholy to the mood. Oscar Isaac stars as the titular folk singer, who can't seem to get anything quite right on a personal or professional level. He always seems to be quarreling with his girlfriend (Carey Mulligan), and his career is going so bad he can barely afford a coat for winter. The music is of course tremendous, and Isaac is terrific snapping up the witty Coen dialogue.
Inside Llewyn Davis co-stars Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund, and Adam Driver, opening December 6th.
