Dwayne Johnson Enlists in 'Seal Team 666'

There doesn't seem to be any stopping Dwayne Johnson right now. The guy is everywhere, and studios can't get enough of his uncanny ability to inject life into failing franchises. But when "The Rock" isn't coming to the rescue, he's being sought for one new potential blockbuster after another. He recently wrapped on Brett Ratner's Hercules movie, and it must have worked out because he's reteaming with its writer Evan Spiliotopoulos for supernatural action flick, Seal Team 666.

Sounding like a cross between Ghostbusters and Full Metal Jacket, the film centers on Cadet Jack Walker who joins  "an elite group of Navy Seals who battle demons and assorted threats and discover that there’s a greater supernatural force bent on destroying the world." Weston Ochse wrote the novel from which it will be based, with Johnson also coming aboard as a producer.

The film is being shopped around at the American Film Market, and presumably we'll hear about a director for it soon. [THR]
