'Star Wars: Episode VII' Arrives December 2015

It seemed like a done deal awhile ago that Star Wars: Episode 7 wasn't going to hit its summer 2015 release date. It was months ago that rumors began to surface that delays were going to happen and when Michael Arndt was removed as writer it seemed like a sure thing. Plus with producer Kathleen Kennedy asking to move the film to 2016, well we knew something was definitely up. And now we have an official release date, and J.J. Abrams will be delivering Star Wars just in time for the holidays.

Star Wars: Episode 7 will open in 3D on December 18th 2015, ending the tradition that has seen every other film arrive in the summer blockbuster season. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan are penning the script which may bring back old favorites Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker.

This is probably the best move anyway because it gives Disney some distance from The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
