First Trailer and Poster for 'The Purge: Anarchy'

It's become common place for the geniuses at Blumhouse Productions to scare up low-budget flicks that turn into blockbuster hits, but even so the expectations were low for The Purge. But due to a cool premise that saw penalties on violent crime lifted for one day per year, the film soared to nearly $90M on a roughly $3M budget. And so that meant a sequel was quickly ordered up, and just as quickly we're getting the first trailer, poster, and images for The Purge: Anarchy.

Writer/director James DeMonaco is back, the only returnee with a whole new cast of Frank Grillo, Michael K. Williams, Zach Gilford, Kiele Sanchez, Carmen Ejogo, and Short Term 12 stand-out Keith Stanfield. In our interview with producer Jason Blum he promised the action would go beyond the house and into the open world, and that seems to be the case in a story set one year after the prior film's events.

The Purge: Anarchy opens June 20th.
