Jason Momoa Howls in First Trailer for 'Wolves'

In the same way that vampires are in desperate need of getting their mojo back (Vampire Academy didn't do the trick), werewolf movies could also use a bit more bite. Unfortunately most of them seem to be stuck on the use of werewolves in a coming-of-age context (like MTV's Teen Wolf), and that seems to be the route David Hayter, writer of X-men and Watchmen, is taking with his directorial debut, Wolves.

Starring Lucas Till and Jason Momoa as a pipe-smoking lycanthrope villain, the film centers on a all-American high school teen who wakes up to find his family murdered and his body undergoing animalistic transformations. Led to the isolated town of Lupine Ridge, the name seemingly a dead giveaway, he finds himself in the middle of a war between rival werewolf packs.

This looks pretty cheesy, especially every single scene that has Momoa in it, but at least there are plenty of fangs and blood. Wolves is expected to open this summer.
