Marvel Eyes Evangeline Lilly for 'Ant-Man'

For a lot of years Evangeline Lilly made playing a tough girl look good on Lost. She was so effective at it that Peter Jackson created an entirely new character for her in The Hobbit, and now she may get a chance to kick butt for Marvel in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man.

According to Variety, Lilly is in talks to join Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Michael Pena in the the superhero film, a part of Marvel's big Phase 3 line-up. Her role is under wraps, of course, but the trade suggests she could be the daughter to Douglas' Hank Pym and the love interest to Rudd's Scott Lang. Whatever the case, it's "not intended to be a one-off appearance", meaning she's likely a character of some notoriety. One has to consider the possibility she's playing  Janet Van Dyne, aka the Wasp and a future Avenger.

No confirmations yet, but theories are no doubt already flying. Ant-Man opens July 17th 2015.
