New Trailer for Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar' Rockets into Space
"We're not meant to save the world, we're meant to leave it." Christopher Nolan has kept much of his sci-fi drama Interstellar under wraps, as he tends to do with most of his films. But he's been especially secret about this one, with early plot summaries including things like wormholes, time travel, and alternate dimensions. The latest trailer still keeps much of what Nolan has planned under wraps while finally showing taking us off the Earth and into the void of space.
Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine, David Oyelowo and more, the film follows a team of astronauts on a mission to the stars in hopes of saving the world. As Oyelowo's character ominously notes, the world has run out of food and the only chance of survival may be finding a new planet elsewhere. Nolan is working with a different cinematographer other than Wally Pfister (who went off to direct Transcendence, probably not the wisest choice) and yet the results appear to be the same as the film looks stunning.
Interstellar opens on November 7th.
