Salma Hayek's combination of stunning beauty and toughness has been her calling card for a lot of years now, so seeing her as the badass lead in a action flick like Everly isn't much of a stretch. She's not like some other actors who turn to this kind of film to revitalize their careers; this is exactly what she's good at, and the latest trailer shows just good she is at playing an unstoppable killing machine.
Directed by Joe Lynch (Knights of Badassdom), the film has Hayek as the title character; a desperate woman who must fend off wave after wave of assassins sent by her ex, who happens to be a dangerous yakuza boss. The catch to this one is that it basically takes place in one location, so as long as it doesn't get tiresome watching her lay waste to hordes of enemies this should be pretty amazing in a way similar to The Raid.
Everly is expected to open in 2015 but for now there's no release date.
