Marvel Finally Gives Fans a Full-Sized 'Ant-Man' Teaser

Marvel got a little too cute for their own good earlier this week when they released a tiny "ant-sized" preview  for Ant-Man, and it was so small nobody could make heads or tails out of it. From a marketing standpoint one can see why they thought it was a good idea but it seemed to bug (pun intended) people who are legitimately excited about the Avengers' upcoming movie. Fortunately, that has all been rectified now with the release of a normal-sized teaser for the trailer, which will debut on January 6th during the premiere of Agent Carter.

While Ant-Man could seem like an unlikely hero to get his own movie, the approach Marvel is taking shows why he was a solid choice. Paul Rudd stars as Scott Lang, a thief who must work with his mentor, inventor Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) to pull off a major heist. Heist movies are one genre the Marvel Universe hasn't really tackled yet and it will be interesting to see how that fits into the overall plan. This footage also gives us a look at Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, Pym's estranged daughter who could eventually become the superhero, the Wasp. She's certainly got her mother Janet van Dyne's hairstyle.

Directed by Peyton Reed and co-starring Corey Stoll, Michael Pena, Judy Greer, and Bobby Cannavale, Ant-Man opens July 17th.
