Seriously, I don't give a shit if Werner Herzog is lying about never having seen the original Bad Lieutenant. Nor do I care if he's blowin' smoke up our ass about not having heard of it's director, Abel Ferrara. That stuff doesn't mean squat. Sure, the original is considered a cult classic by some, mainly for Harvey Keitel's performance, but Herzog's upcoming film already looks like a totally different animal. I haven't seen Nic Cage this inspired since..........hell, just check out the trailer.

That looks like its going to be pretty good. Good cast at that. Is it me or is Nicolas Cage's facial expressions always the same in every movie?
ReplyDeleteDude has only two expressions, but he's very good at pulling them off. I notice in his worst films he only uses one expression, which is "vague disinterest".
