Earlier today at CinemaCon(formely ShoWest), Disney announced that the sequel to Pixar's Monsters, Inc. will be titled Monsters University. The title kinda gives away the plot just a little, which is rumored to be a prequel set when Mike Wazowski(voiced by Billy Crystal) and James P. "Sully" Sullivan(John Goodman) were students at the University of Fear. The two start off as enemies but become fast friends. It's assumed that both Goodman and Crystal will be reprising their voice roles.
Monsters, Inc. premiered on November 12th 2001, earning over $525M worldwide. Monsters University is currently slated for a November 2nd, 2012 release.
I know a lot of people prefer the Toy Story
flicks, but Monsters Inc. is second behind The Incredibles
for me. Here's hoping we get to see all of our favorite characters return, especially Roz and that laugh of hers.
