Trailer Time: The Big Year, starring Owen Wilson, Steve Martin, and Jack Black

As someone who lambasted a film like Old Dogs, which was a godawful comedy about a group of unfunny dudes in various states of mid-life crisis, then it's only fair that I do the same over this trailer for The Big Year. It doesn't matter that the trio of Steve Martin, Jack Black, and Owen Wilson is infinitely superior to the one Old Dogs gave us, the fact is the film looks exactly the same in execution. Maybe that's why there's been so little press for it even though it hits theaters in barely over a month?

Based on Mark Obmascik's book, the film stars the three comedic heavyweights as bird watching obsessives who go on a year long trek/competition to find the most rare species.  David Frankel, director of both The Devil Wears Prada and Marley & Me, is behind the camera for this one, with Rashida Jones, Anjelica Huston, Rosamune Pike, Dianne Wiest, Anthony Anderson, and Joel McHale co-starring. Check out the new trailer below...
