Channing Tatum to star and produce an Evel Knievel biopic

Well, never let it be said that Channing Tatum isn't adventurous. This year has seen him succeed in pretty much every genre, from the art house, to action thrillers, to romance, and most recently as a stripper in Magic Mike. Not too shabby, hooking three $100M movies in a single half year. But Channing Tatum: daredevil? Eh, why not?

THR reports that Tatum is set to produce and star in a biopic on the legendary stuntman, Evel Knievel. Knievel was a huge motorcycle star a few decades ago, and his name has pretty much become synonymous with doing crazy sh*t in a vehicle of any sort. He was best known for his insane jumps over rows of parked cars, his stars & stripes outfit, and also for his 433 broken bones.

Tatum will produce the film with his usual partner, Reid Carolin, who will also write the script based on Stuart Barker's 2008 book, Life of Evel. When this will shoot is unclear, as Tatum has a few projects lined up, including the hostage thriller, White House Down.
