New clip from the long-delayed 'Solomon Kane'

Wow, ok. So it looks like we're FINALLY going to see Michael J. Bassett's long-delayed action flick, Solomon Kane, hitting American theaters. The film was completed three years ago and debuted in Toronto to some pretty good buzz, mainly for James Purefoy's performance as the pulpy title character, who was created by novelist Robert E. Howard, the same guy who gave us Conan the Barbarian.

With a theatrical release set for September 28th, and a VOD run that began this past Friday, a new clip has been released for the 16th century-set action flick. Solomon Kane is a brutally efficient mercenary fighting in wars all over the world. When he and his crew are attacked by demons will invading a fortress, Kane survives only to discover that his soul has been damned to Hell. Deciding to change and live a life of peace, he nonetheless takes up arms again as a Puritan avenger fighting against a new dark power, and to save his own soul.

At this point it's doubtful that we'll get that planned trilogy they were hoping. Max von Sydow, the late Pete Postlethwait, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Mackenzie Crook, and Alice Krige co-star. Check out the clip and most recent trailer below...
