Steven Spielberg won't make Osama Bin Laden film, 'No Easy Day'
Remember that story yesterday about Steven Spielberg possibly taking on an adaptation of Navy SEAL Mark Owen's controversial book, No Easy Day, a first-hand account of the killing of Osama Bin Laden? Well, it ain't happenin', and it possibly never was.
Steven Spielberg's spokesman put out a rather simple and direct statement so there can be no debate where they stand....
"Neither Steven Spielberg, DreamWorks Studios or DreamWorks Television will be optioning Mark Owen’s book 'No Easy Day.'"
All this says to me is that somebody else will do it, possibly HBO who were also in the running as of yesterday. Then again, it's also possible that the whole Page Six report was crap, which wouldn't surprise me considering the New York Post's track record. We'll just have to wait and see how this develops.
