And the award for most boring poster of the year goes to Parker! I get it, that we fans of Jason Statham's movies don't need flashy one-sheets with all sorts of bells and whistles. We know what we're getting already. More of Statham grimacing his way through another film where he plays a bad ass in a well-tailored suit. But still, this new poster is ridiculous, even with Jennifer Lopez's face materializing out of Statham's gut. Not sure what that's about.
In case you forgot about it, Parker is based on the popular character from Donald E. Westlake's novels, who we've seen portrayed in multiple films already, including Mel Gibson in Payback. Parker is a thief and violent criminal with his own personal code of ethics(like The Transporter!) seeking revenge on the guys who double-crossed him. Sounds simple enough, right?
Oscar-winning director Taylor Hackford(Ray) is behind the camera, and hopefully he'll do a better job here than with Love Ranch. Nick Nolte, Wendell Pierce, and Michael Chiklis will co-star when Parker opens on January 25th.[IGN]
