Atmospheric IMAX poster and four clips from 'Oblivion' with Tom Cruise

Considering all of the success the sci-fi genre has brought Tom Cruise with Minority Report and War of the Worlds, it's a wonder that he's stayed away from it for so long. After the mediocre returns on Jack Reacher, he's jumping back into the far-flung future again with Oblivion, the latest film from Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski.

A beautiful, atmospheric new poster has been released to go along with four clips that give our best look yet at the film. Cruise plays Jack Harper, a drone repairman on an Earth that has been abandoned by humanity after a devastating alien attack. Everything he thought he knew comes crashing down around him with the discovery of a mysterious woman, leading to his capture by a rebel faction with hopes of setting things right. The footage shows some of the film's quieter, intense moments between Cruise, Andrea Riseborough, and Morgan Freeman. But Kosinski's skill at crafting well-staged, futuristic action is also put on display.

Also starring Olga Kurylenko, Melissa Leo, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Oblivion hits theaters on April 19th.
