New posters for 'Iron Man 3', 'Pain & Gain', 'World War Z', and more

Ready for yet another Iron Man 3 poster? Marvel doesn't really care if you are or not, so they've crammed together a few of the previous one-sheets to make up this new international one, featuring Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, and Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts cradling Iron Man's helmet like a baby. Probably the most interesting thing we've learned about the film of late is that there will be two different versions, one for us and another exclusively for China. The Chinese one will include an appearance by Fan Bingbing, one of their most popular actresses. For a deeper look at Iron Man 3 before it opens on May 3rd, check out the Marvel Phase Two preview here.

"Their American Dream is bigger than yours". And so are their biceps. With Michael Bay's crime comedy Pain & Gain hitting theaters in just a few weeks, a new poster has been released which puts the heavily muscled trio of Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, and Anthony Mackie front and center. Done on a smaller budget than Bay's typical films, Pain & Gain follows a group of Florida bodybuilders who also run a criminal ring specializing in kidnapping, extortion, and murder. When they screw up and leave a wealthy victim alive, he hires an investigator to track them down. Rebel Wilson, Rob Corddry, Ed Harris, Ken Jeong, Bar Paly, and Tony Shalhoub will co-star when it opens on April 26th.

You probably wouldn't know it to look at the trailers overflowing with the undead rampaging through city streets, but World War Z was originally inspired by Studs Turkel's The Good War, an incredible oral history of the people and places affected by WWII. The film version, which stars Brad Pitt as a U.N. bureaucrat racing around the globe trying to stop a zombie invasion, bears little resemblance to Mark Brooks' novel, which is more analytical and features considerably less action. But nobody would pay to see that story get adapted, nor would audiences want to watch it, so what we have now is what could be one of this summer's blockbusters. The newest one-sheet shows Pitt watching from the relative safety of a helicopter as the world burns beneath him. World War Z hits theaters in 3D on June 21st.

Fresh off pulling an April Fool's prank teasing Pineapple Express 2, then hitting us all with arguably the funniest trailer yet, a new poster for the apocalyptic comedy This Is the End has arrived. Co-directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the film jams all of their celebrity pals into one place then mercilessly kills most of them off as the world falls apart. Rogen  joins James Franco, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride, Emma Watson, Michael Cera, Jason Segel, Paul Rudd, Rihanna, and more when the film opens on June 12th.

It's been another nine years, which means it's time for another chapter in Richard Linklater's Before Sunrise series, the definitive romance story in my humble opinion. Before Midnight brings back Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy as Jesse and Celine, whose relationship continues to evolve as they experience a summer in Greece. The film opens on May 24th, and you can check out my mostly spoiler-free review here.

You'd think that the summer time would be fertile ground for coming-of-age dramas, and for a time they were. But now they tend to get crowded out by by all the season's expensive blockbusters. So it shows the confidence CBS Films has in Sundance hit The Kings of Summer with a May 31st release date. Formerly known as Toy's House, the film follows three best friends who strike out to forge their own destiny by building a house in the middle of the woods and living off the land. Nick Robinson, Moises Arias, and Gabriel Basso play the three boys, who learn about family and loyalty during their adventure. Alison Brie, Nick Offerman, and Megan Mullaly co-star.
