Nicki Minaj to make acting debut in 'The Other Woman' with Cameron Diaz

How much one still enjoys Fox's American Idol this year probably has to do with your feelings towards outlandish rapper, Nicki Minaj. Either you find her volatile behavior entertaining and a jolt of sass the show sorely needs. Or she's an irritant just looking for her next tabloid headline. Either way, Minaj knows how to court controversy, which makes her an odd choice to join Nick Cassavetes' developing comedy, The Other Woman.

Minaj recently lent her voice to Ice Age: Continental Drift, but this will mark her true acting debut. The Other Woman stars Cameron Diaz as a mistress who discovers that her lover (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is a married man, and so she teams up with his wife (Leslie Mann) to get a little revenge. Cassavetes already took one risk by casting Kate Upton as another of the husband's women, but he seems to have secured the perfect part for the outspoken Minaj. She'll play Diaz's loud, opinionated assistant.

Filming on The Other Woman begins next month.
