New Silver Samurai poster for 'The Wolverine'

The Silver Samurai is one of Wolverine's most enduring rivals, although it wouldn't exactly be correct to call him a "villain". He and Logan have a lot more in common than not, and when they clash sword-to-claw, it's usually one's honor that is at stake. Trailers for The Wolverine have only given us glimpses of Will Yun Lee as Silver Samurai, which may be why James Mangold saw fit to unveil a new poster with him as the highlight, and done in the same Japanese style as the very first official image.

Mangold tweeted the new one-sheet, saying they are "beginning to offer glimpses of Silver Samurai", suggesting this may be just the first of many looks at the character. It's doubtful that they'll create character posters for the rest of the cast since they mostly consist of Yakuza members, but maybe we'll get one for the emerald-haired Viper?

The Wolverine opens on July 26th.

PLOT: Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
