Set photos reveal Anthony Mackie as Falcon in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'

Filming on Captain America: The Winter Soldier is underway, which means that the floodgates of mostly useless set photos have begun. But, much like with the first glimpse of Jamie Foxx as Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, every now and then some shots pop up that are actually worth paying attention to. In this case it's the first look at Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson aka Falcon.

In keeping with Captain America's costume design, Falcon's is a practical, more militaristic design than the red and white of the comic book version. Mackie, who was recently dwarfed by Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson in Pain & Gain, has said that Falcon will indeed sport wings, which may explain the green screen and harness. Also of interest are the twin sub-machine guns, as Falcon generally prefers to fight hand-to-hand or use his bird Redwing in combat.
