Anthony Mackie Finds 'Shelter'; Milla Jojovich Joins 'Cymbeline'; Tarsem Singh to Direct 'The Panopticon'

* It's taken awhile, but Paul Bettany is finally gearing up his directorial debut, Shelter. Co-written by Bettany, having first cast his wife Jennifer Connelly, he's now added Anthony Mackie and Stephen Graham (Boardwalk Empire) to the film, described as a love story about two homeless people on the streets of Manhattan. Filming will take place beginning next month, and it sounds like something we'll be seeing on the festival circuit soon. [Showbiz411]

* Milla Jojovich is the latest to come aboard the rapidly developing Cymbeline, the latest Shakespearean effort by Hamlet pair Michael Almereyda and star Ethan Hawke. The modern update is set amongst the world of dirty cops and biker gangs, with Jojovich as the scheming Queen looking to move her son onto the throne at the expense of the King's daughter. * Visual maestro Tarsem Singh (Mirror Mirror) has had a tough time living up to the promise of The Fall, but maybe his next project will do the trick. He'll direct the strangely-titled science fiction film The Panopticon, about  “a seemingly ordinary man who receives a mysterious package containing a pre-recorded message from himself, warning that the world is about to end and only he can save it." The script comes from Craig Rosenberg (After the Sunset), and it's unclear if the film will interfere with Singh's plans to direct the Ryan Reynolds sci-fi flick, Selfless. [TheWrap]
