Anton Yelchin & Dakota Johnson Join 'Cymbeline'; Jane Levy and Nicholas Braun are 'Good Kids'
* The Hamlet duo of director Michael Almereyda and star Ethan Hawke have wasted no time rounding up the cast of their latest Shakespearean effort, Cymbeline. With Ed Harris, Penn Badgley, and Milla Jojovich already on board the adaptation, the latest additions are Star Trek's Anton Yelchin and 21 Jump Street's Dakota Johnson. A 21st century update written by Almereyda, this version is set in the midst of a war between corrupt cops and a drug-dealing biker gang, with Yelchin as Cloten, the son of the Queen who is trying to move him onto the throne. Johnson is Imogen, the king's daughter. Filming begins in NYC next week.
* Chris McCoy, whose script for Guardians of the Galaxy is in production right now over at Marvel, is set to make his directorial debut with Good Kids. Based on his own script, the story centers on “four overachieving high school students in Cape Cod who reinvent themselves after graduation when the summer people come to town.” He's now found two of the four leads as Jane Levy, fresh off the Evil Dead remake, and Nicholas Braun from Kevin Smith's Red State have signed on to star. McCoy is on fire right now with three scripts landing on the Black List (best unproduced screenplays), and of course 'Guardians' is likely to make him a go-to guy around the Marvel bullpen. Levy will be returning for season 3 of the newly-renewed series Suburgatory (yay!!), while Braun is currently filming genre mash-up The Kitchen Sink. [Deadline]
