'Oblivion' Director Joseph Kosinski Enters 'The Twilight Zone'

"You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. Your next stop...the Twilight Zone."
While Rod Serling began every season of his legendary anthology series with a variation of that quote, the words could be just as easily applied to the imaginative worlds Joseph Kosinski dreamed up in his first two films, Tron: Legacy and Oblivion. The director has been stuck in limbo on his next project while Disney drag their feet on a Tron sequel, so he's decided to go elsewhere in the meantime. His next stop....The Twilight Zone.
Warner Bros. has been developing a film version of the iconic sci-fi/mystery series for quite awhile, with Matt Reeves (Let Me In) once slated to direct from a script by Sherlock Holmes scribe Tony Peckham. But with a director like Kosinski coming aboard they are now essentially starting from scratch, reworking the film to fit his style. The show's anthology format had been dropped in the early plans for the movie, but we'll see how things move forward now under different guidance. Since there's no word on other directors coming aboard, a traditional narrative will probably be the direction Kosinski takes.
Leonardo DiCaprio is producing through his Appian Way banner, so there's already some heavy muscle behind it. Bryan Singer is also developing a Twilight Zone TV series that was announced last year, but it seems to have dropped off the radar.  [THR]
