Late 'Glee' Star Corey Monteith Is On the Run in 'McCanick' Trailer

As Hollywood continues to grieve over the sudden passing of Glee star Corey Monteith, the actor's final projects are just starting to see the light of day. Two Monteith films will be debuting at TIFF next month. One is the dramedy All the Wrong Reasons, which has him co-starring with Gossip Girl's Kevin Zegers. The other is the last film Monteith shot before his death, the indie thriller McCanick, and a new trailer for it has arrived.

Directed by Josh C. Waller, who helmed the awesome fight flick Raze, McCanick has Monteith as former drug addict recently released from prison, but is being hunted down by a cop hiding a terrible secret. Given Monteith's public battles with drugs, it's a little sad to see him in a role that seems to echo aspects of his life, but it's even more tragic to recognize the unfulfilled potential. The film actually looks like it could be quite good, and the supporting cast of David Morse, Ciaran Hinds, and Mike Vogel, and Tracie Thoms look in excellent form.

We'll see if either Monteith film can find distribution after the festival, but it likely won't be a problem. As for Glee, show creator Ryan Murphy is putting the finishing touches on the tribute show now.
