New Trailer and Clip for 'The Book Thief' Starring Geoffrey Rush and Sophie Nelisse

All of the shuffling around at the top of the Oscar contender list has opened the doors for a few dark horses to stake their claim to some gold. One of the main beneficiaries will likely be The Book Thief, which 20th Century Fox is pumping a lot of dollars into turning into a major factor. It was a little surprising that an adaptation of such a loved best-seller was sort of flying under the radar, but now that it's picking up momentum a U.K. trailer has been released to offer a new look.

Starring Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson, and Sophie Nelisse, the WWII drama follows a young girl living with her foster parents in Nazi-occupied Germany. To cope with her new parents and the hiding of a Jewish refugee, she finds comfort in the power of books, which she shares with her family and the townspeople. The footage indicates a real heartwarmer, and we've yet to see anything of the darker elements found in Marcus Zusak's novel.

The Book Thief opens on November 8th. Check out the trailer and a schmaltzy clip below....
