Plot Revealed for Woody Allen's 'Magic in the Moonlight'

Details on Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine remained vague right up until the last minute, and that's generally been the case for most of Allen's movies. But he's doing something different with his latest, Magic in the Moonlight, revealing the full plot before the film even has a release date.

Sony Pictures Classics has picked up the rights, and along with it have dropped an official synopsis. As we suspected from the early images, it's indeed a period piece set in the jazz era...

"MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT is a romantic comedy about an Englishman brought in to help unmask a possible swindle.  Personal and professional complications ensue. The film is set in the south of France in the 1920s against a backdrop of wealthy mansions, the Côte d’Azur, jazz joints and fashionable spots for the wealthy of the Jazz Age."

Starring Emma Stone, Marcia Gay Harden, Colin Firth, Eileen Atkins, Hamish Linklater, Simon McBurney, Jacki Weaver, Jeremy Shamos and Erica Leerhsen, Magic in the Moonlight will probably debut later this year , and it wouldn't be surprising it if turned up at Cannes.
