Toad Returns for 'X-men: Days of Future Past'

Just because Anna Paquin's Rogue was cut from X-men: Days of Future Past, don't think Bryan Singer has suddenly realized he's got too many mutants to work with. Instead there's one more being added that we never knew about, as the evil mutant Toad is returning for the first time since X-men, when he was played by Ray Park.

But it won't be Park hopping like mad this time; instead it will be Evan Jonigkeit playing a younger version of the character. He tells MTV...

"I read a lot of the comic books. I found out the storyline of my character, who is Toad. X-Men fans will know that Ray Park played him in the first movie, so it's a generation story of how he came to be. It's really cool."

When asked about Toad's look, he wouldn't reveal much except to say it will definitely be different than what we saw before.

"The aesthetics of the character are much different, and I'm not really allowed to say a whole lot more than that." He then added, "It's darker. I would say it's a darker tone."

One more thing to look out for when X-men: Days of Future Past opens on May 23rd.
