New 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' TV Spot May Have a Major Spoiler

One of the biggest stories over the last week has been the apparent reveal of a major spoiler in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, one that can be found merely by checking out the movie's soundtrack or looking at the toys. Unfortunately, that's going to be an ongoing concern from here on out due to the massive promotional tie-ins for Marvel movies, but do we really expect Marvel to do the spoiling themselves?

The latest TV spot for Captain America: The Winter Soldier seems to contain a major reveal. We'll give you fair warning by saying there will be spoilers from here on out...

The 30-second spot contains Captain America remarking about "Fury's last words", then cutting to what appears to be Fury being draped under a white sheet. Now, the footage also shows Fury's vehicle being attacked by the Winter Soldier, and so the conclusion we're meant to draw is that someone offed SHIELD's top spy. First of all, the chances of Fury actually being dead are extremely slim, because that's one of the character's biggest tricks. He's always thinking too far ahead for that. But Marvel probably wouldn't want to get rid of Samuel L. Jackson, either, who is arguably their most recognizable face. It's also unlikely they would deliberately spill the beans on something this big.

So expect this to be just a clever marketing ruse, and Fury will be up running SHIELD in no time. We can hardly expect him to stay dead like Phil Coulson di.....oh wait. Well anyway, check out the TV spot below and judge for yourself. Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens April 4th.
