'The Raid' Remake Eyes Hemsworth Brothers as Patrick Hughes will Direct

So....how do you feel about a remake of The Raid? Make your stomach hurt? Well, it should. But we already knew that Gareth Evans, who directed The Raid and the incredible sequel, had agreed to produce an American remake of the hit action sequel, and unfortunately cooler heads have not prevailed. The film is still moving forward with an action director signed and two big time action stars being targeted.

According to The Wrap, The Expendables 3 helmer Patrick Hughes has come aboard to direct the project, which will follow a similar storyline of a cop unit battling through hundreds of thugs in a crime lord's high-rise building. With a director in place, somebody will need to star in this thing, and apparently the Hemsworth brothers (all three??) are high on producers' lists. Liam Hemsworth had a cup of coffee in The Expendables 2, while Chris has been powering up as Thor and led Snow white and the Huntsman, but none of that would prepare them for the sort of stunts they'd need to pull off in The Raid. There's also a Luke Hemsworth who has yet to have a fraction of their success.

Yes, this is a bad idea but maybe the script by Brad Inglesby (Out of the Furnace) can make this worthwhile? Eh, probably not.
