*UPDATE* Spider-Man's Foes in the 'Sinister Six' Revealed?
*UPDATE: The Wrap is throwing cold water on this story, saying the Sinister Six members "have not been decided on, as Goddard is still finalizing the script." They also add that production could begin in January 2015. That leads me to wonder why they would use these six specific images of Spidey villains then? Seems unlikely it was done at random. Original story is below.*
Those expecting The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to have the typical post-credits teaser may be a little disappointed. What they'll get is a spot for X-men: Days of Future Past, oddly enough, and something else that's a bit strange. Sony has made it possible for those in attendance to use the Shazam music finding app during the closing credits theme, and those who do will be treated to a different version of the credits, one with some clues for the upcoming Sinister Six movie. Beware of the evil spoilers below!!
As we know, the Sinister Six are set to get their own film written and directed by Drew Goddard, and we've seen a couple of clues to which villains may be part of the squad. Comingsoon has used the Shazam app to uncover six photos that do seem to reveal the line-up.
The first is clearly the Green Goblin's glider, suggesting that Dane DeHaan will be reprising his role. Although, and this comes from someone who has not seen The Amazing Spider-Man 2 yet, it's worth noting that plenty of others have worn the Goblin mask. It doesn't have to be Harry Osborn.
This one is Doctor Octopus' tentacles, seen in previous trailers for the film.
And these appear to be the metallic wings of the Vulture, seen in the same promos as Doc Ock's gear.
It looks as if Paul Giamatti will definitely be in as the Rhino.
This seems to resemble the lion insignia for Kraven the Hunter.
And there's some question about this one. Comingsoon says it could be either Mysterio or the Chameleon, but I don't believe it to be either one. I think it's Shocker, a villain rumored to be part of the franchise some time ago. It's certainly not Mysterio who wears a distinctive fishbowl helmet.
You can check out the promo for yourself now by downloading the Shazam app and using it on the Alicia Keys track "It's On Again".
