ABC Renews 'Agents of SHIELD' and Picks Up 'Agent Carter' for Series
Marvel's Agents of SHIELD suffered through the same growing pains that most shows go through in their first season, but because fans were expecting to see The Avengers every week they were much harder on it. The ratings decline left some doubt whether the show would get picked up for a second season, but it appears the good word about the most recent episodes has won ABC over.
Agents of SHIELD has been renewed for another season, even though there isn't much of SHIELD left right now. Fortunately we'll have a chance to see the secret organization's origins as the network has also picked up Hayley Atwell's Agent Carter series, just as expected. Carter was a key figure in Captain America: The First Avenger and received her own One-Shot short film. She was seen again this year in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Below is description for the series, which just leaped to the top of my most anticipated list. On the other hand, Constantine, the Flash, and iZombie, all of which were just picked up by other networks, are shows I'll probably skip.
It's 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Steve Rogers.
