Elisabeth Moss Joins Horror 'There Are Monsters' from 'The Strangers' Director
During the hiatus between Mad Men seasons a couple of years ago Elisabeth Moss took time to star in Jane Campion's Sundance Channel series, Top of the Lake, thrusting herself in an insular world that was pretty horrific. And now she's venturing into the horror genre fully in There Are Monsters, and frankly it'll have to be pretty grim to match what she experienced in Top of The Lake. Just sayin'. Fortunately she'll be working with a filmmaker who knows a thing or two about directing disturbing material.
Written and directed by Bryan Bertino, who is probably best known for 2008's chilling The Strangers, the film follows a "single mum and her terrified young daughter who are trapped and tormented by a mysterious creature." Vague and certainly familiar, especially for Bertino, but hopefully a more thorough plot will arrive soon.
Filming on There Are Monsters begins this fall. [Screen Daily]
