Full Trailer for Fox's 'Gotham' Series Introduces Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon

As expected, Fox gave a "thumbs up" to the Batman prequel series, Gotham, picking up the show for at least 13 episodes, and now they've released a trailer to accompany the announcement. The show stars Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, still a rookie on the police force who befriends a young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) after his parents are murdered. We know their deaths will ultimately lead to Wayne taking on the mantle of Batman, but this series chronicles the years leading up to that as Gordon fights to save Gotham from the crime ruling its streets.

The emphasis of the trailer is in that first meeting between Gordon and Wayne, but then it quickly goes into showing off the younger versions of Batman's future villains: Poison Ivy, Penguin, Riddler, and Catwoman...well, Catwoman is totally bad but you get the point. We even see a little bit of Jada Pinkett Smith as the colorfully-named crime boss, Fish Mooney. Will this be just another cop procedural with the occasional supervillain thrown in for good measure? That's kind of what's being hinted at here but there's a lot more we've yet to see.

Also starring Donal Logue, Barbara Kean, Jada Pinkett Smith, Robin Lord Taylor, Camren Bicondova, Sean Pertwee, Cory Michael Smith, and Zabryna Guevara, Gotham will debut on Fox this fall.
