Warner Bros. Bumps Ben Affleck's 'Live By Night' to Late 2016

Warner Bros. is doing some major reorganizing of their release date calendar, and we can probably trace some of this to the apparent decision to shoot Batman vs. Superman and Justice League back-to-back. The biggest impact is on Ben Affleck and his plan to direct Dennis Lehane's Live By Night. Originally slated to open in the high-profile Christmas 2015 spot, the film has now been moved to October 7th 2016. Produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, the Prohibition-era crime drama follows the son of a prominent Boston police captain who rises in the ranks of the mob.

The studio has also dated two Untitled Warner Animation Group projects for February 10th 2017 and February 9th 2018. Can you say The LEGO Movie sequels?

Also, Jeff Nichols' sci-fi film Midnight Special has been set for November 25th 2015. Starring Michael Shannon, Adam Driver, Kirsten Dunst, and Joel Edgerton, the film centers on a Dad who goes on the run with his 8-year-old son who has special powers.
