New Trailer for 'Before I Go to Sleep' starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth

The last collaboration between Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth was in The Railway Man, in which she played a wife helping her husband overcome his painful past. But in their latest film, Before I Go to Sleep, she can't trust Firth as far as she can throw him. A new trailer has been released for the Rowan Joffe-directed thriller about a woman who loses her memory after a terrible accident, and doesn't know whether her husband or her doctor (Mark Strong) is telling her the truth about anything.

Coming off of Gone Girl it could be tough for another adaptation about distrustful spouses to gain any traction, but maybe audiences will be anxious for more? Before I Go to Sleep opens on Halloween.

New Trailer and Poster for 'Before I Go to Sleep' with Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth

What if you were to combine the domestic dangers of Julia Roberts' Sleeping with the Enemy with the mind-bending drama of Memento? The result would probably look a lot like Before I Go to Sleep, the new psychological thriller that reunites Nicole Kidman with her Railway Man co-star, Colin Firth. With a new release date just a couple of months away, a new trailer and poster for the buzz-worthy film has hit the web.

Based on the best selling debut novel by S.J. Watson and directed by Rowan Joffe (Brighton Rock), Kidman plays a woman traumatized by an attack she suffered years ago. She wakes up every day with no memory of what happened, and what, if anything, her supposedly caring husband (Firth) and doctor (Mark Strong) have to do with it. She begins documenting every clue Memento-style and begins uncovering some disturbing truths.

Before I Go to Sleep has been moved from its September 12th slot and will now open on October 31st.

'Memento'-Esque Trailer for 'Before I Go to Sleep' Starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth

The last time Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth collaborated on a film it didn't turn out so well. That was The Railway Man, which began looking like an obvious Oscar candidate until it started playing and it became quite obvious it wasn't. But around the same time as that movie was making the rounds, Kidman and Firth agreed to another project that also sounded very promising. It was Before I Go to Sleep, and it came with serious potential being based on the best-selling mystery novel by author S.J. Watson along with Ridley Scott as a producer.

The first trailer has arrived for the film which features direction by Rowan Joffe (Brighton Rock) and co-stars in Mark Strong and Anne-Marie Duff. Kidman plays a woman who has suffered a traumatic incident and thus wakes up each day remembering nothing. But when flashes of memory reveal new truths about what happened, she must decide who around her she can trust, and that includes her husband (Firth) who may not be who he claims. Looking a little bit like Memento meets Sleeping with the Enemy, this probably won't be a film that emerges on the awards radar but might be solidly little thriller.

Before I Go to Sleep opens September 12th.
