More 30 Days of Night Sequels Planned
Initially I figured Steve Niles' 30 Days of Night would be one of those films that would come and go, never to be heard from again. But with the sequel already in the filming stages, a new young cast, positive buzz, and a wealth of source material to draw from, it looks like Niles is ready to kick his vampire story into franchise mode. He tells Bloody Disgusting...
"Right now we’re just trying to get this one in the can," Niles tels Bloody Disgusting exclusively adding that they plan on bringing back some of the cast. "If that goes well, we’re set up to move forward. We got a great young cast that we can bring along if this works out well, and we’ll be ready to keep going with the story. Plus, the comics are done. God, what do we have, like seven different graphic novels now if it actually took off?"
Niles also reveals why gorgeous actress Melissa George couldn't return for the sequel, stating that her schedule was just too booked up to fit it in. Hm, I have my doubts about that. I'm betting it has more to do with asking price than anything else. Not that it matters. I'm increasingly bullish on this franchise, and the more I hear the better it sounds.
