Timberlake, Akroyd as Yogi and Boo-Boo?

It's been a year since the first rumors started that a live-action Yogi Bear movie was in the works. Why? Because you fools went in too large a number to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, and since Hollywood can't let anything die they took this as an indicator that we all wanted more beloved toon icons presented in lame CGI.

News has started to trickle out about Yogi, and now we're starting to get some real casting news. It appears that Justin Timberlake is signing on to voice the role of Yogi's "hetero" lifemate, Boo-Boo. As for the picnic basket stealing Yogi himself? He'll be voiced by comic legend, Dan Akroyd. Pretty slick casting there, actually.

But what about Ranger Smith, Yogi's human sometimes nemesis/sometimes friend? Nothing indicates whether or not Smith will even be a character in the film. Anna Faris(The House Bunny, Scary Movie) is up for the role of a documentary filmmaker who will be covering Yogi and Boo-Boo's misadventures throughout Jellystone Park. Faris recently lent her voice to the unholy Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel, so she has nobody to blame but herself when the film gods unleash their wrath against her someday.

Filming is set to begin in December. Praying for rain and tornadoes and tsunamis.
