AVENGERS Plotline Revealed?

Is a Secret Invasion about to be unleashed on the Marvel film universe? If Comicbookmovie is to be believed then the answer is a resounding "Yes!". According to their "insider source", the presumed plot for Marvel Studios' Avengers film will not follow that of the group's formation. At least not completely. In the comics, the trickster god Loki takes control of the Incredible Hulk and uses him to unleash holy hell on the planet. The Avengers are forced to band together to stop him, and the rest is history. Now it's looking like Loki may not be the catalyst for this event in the movie, but instead that role will be filled by the shapeshifting alien race known as the Skrulls.

Makes sense. Loki is going to be a major factor in the Thor film, so it's likely that Kenneth Branagh wants to keep the character for himself. The Skrulls would reportedly not be upfront players, but be more shadowy and clandestine, working in the background similar to the way The Ten Rings have been used in both Iron Man films. There's a chance that the Skrulls' archenemies, the alien Kree, will appear as well.  Personally, I hope this rumor is true. A trilogy of films pitting the Avengers vs. The Skrulls could be epic.
